TIT&S was established by the great Industrialist Dr G. D. Birla under the aegis of Birla Education Trust in 1943. The institute is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Directorate of Technical Education, Haryana. It is affiliated to Maharshi Dayanad University, Rohtak.
TIT&S prides over its rich educational legacy of 75 years and fosters technical acumen among its students by adopting model curriculum as recommended by apex authority of technical education and falling in line with the demands of industry. The institute offers undergraduate programmes i.e B. Tech. in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Fashion & Apparael Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering. Post-graduate programmes are offered in Computer Engineering, Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Fashion & Apparel Engineering. The affiliating university facilitates TIT&S as an approved centre for doctoral research.
The institute has completed many Major and Minor Research Projects sponsored by UGC, CSIR, AICTE and MHRD. The uniqueness of this institute lies in its live manufacturing facility to which graduates are sufficiently exposed. In addition to fine tuned curriculum our thrust areas are Industrial Training, on and off campus, and value-added courses viz. Core Life Skills, Employability Skills, Universal Human Values, Reasoning & Analytics and Aptitude Building.
TIT&S has also signed MOUs with Woolmark and Textile Association for collaborations in various academic avenues to benefit its students.
