About Department

Fashion & Apparel Engineering Department came into existence in the year of 2001, first of its kind throughout the Country, in order to fulfill the gap which was created at that time with the growing demand of Fashion & Apparel Industries.  With a total intake of 60 undergraduate and 18 postgraduate students the discipline teaches Fabric Structure, Knitting Technology, Structure and Properties of Textiles, Material studies, Textile and Garment Testing, Textile and Apparel Costing, Home Textile, Sports Textile, Fashion Sketching, Design Idea and Fashion Illustration, Fashion Accessories, Home Fashion and Furnishing etc to name a few core areas.

The department of Fashion & Apparel Engineering has well equipped laboratories like Preparatory Wet Processing, PWP Lab, Dyeing Lab, Printing, Printing Lab, Mechanical and Chemical Processing, Computer Colour Matching Lab, CAD Lab, Garment Production and Machine Lab, Pattern Making Lab, Advanced Apparel Construction Lab etc.

 

Department Advisory Committee (DAC)

TIT has constituted Department Advisory Committee (DAC) for each branch of Engineering and Business Management Department. The (DAC) for Textile Technology includes eminent academicians and professionals from their respective fields having great experience to guide faculty and students to achieve excellence.
